Vivonics Wins Navy Phase II Contract for Wearable Physiological Monitor

Vivonics was awarded a Phase II STTR contract from the US Navy, Office of Naval Research for the continued development of a multi-functional wearable sensor for physiological monitoring with wireless communication.  The system, called MICROS (Miniature Integrated Circuits Reporting Overall Status) unobtrusively measures bioelectrical signals from anywhere on the body, dynamically identifies the underlying source of the signals, and presents individual waveforms as well as physiologic parameters derived from the available data streams.  Combined with monitoring and analysis software on a mobile platform, MICROS will provide comprehensive, real time data on physical and mental readiness for military and commercial applications.  For this Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, Vivonics is partnered with researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY.  The RPI team is providing customized integrated circuit technology to miniaturize the MICROS product.

MICROS will be a pivotal product in Vivonics’ array of non-invasive physiological monitoring solutions, enabling future diagnostic algorithm development.
